Aegean uses Airbus A321 or A320 aircraft for all flights. The flights between Athens and Cairo take a bit under 2 hours.
Most Europeans need a visa to enter Egypt, but for citizens of the EU, the process is straightforward: they can obtain a visa on arrival at Egyptian airports or apply in advance for an e-visa online. The standard tourist visa is usually valid for 30 days and costs around US$25 (~€22) for a single entry. A few exceptions exist, such as citizens of some Balkan or Eastern European countries who may have different requirements, but for the majority of European travellers, entry is simple and does not require securing a visa through an embassy beforehand.
Search & Book
This fare has not sales period, but we expect it to end over the weekend. You can use Google Flights to find available dates, or our calendar above. We found availability between January and March 2026. You can book the flights directly on Aegean’s website.
While cheap Economy Light prices like that are not that uncommon, the current sale makes travelling with checked far cheaper than usual, with the ComfortFlex available at a fraction of its usual cost.

Editor’s Note: This is a fairly nice offer by itself, but the notable discount on higher fare classes makes it special. I flew on Aegean’s nighttime rotation to Cairo in late 2022. While you have to spend two hotel nights extra – lodging in Cairo is cheap, so it is not a huge downside.
